Do you have anything that turns your heart away from God? It doesn’t matter if it is one thing or many things. God does not tolerate rivals. You are either fully devoted to Him or you’re not. Which is it?
Daily Devotion
Counterfeit Gods
Everyone follows someone or something. As believers, we have to make sure the one true God holds that central and essential part of our lives. There is no one like Him in heaven above or earth below. Make the adjustments and changes in your life to demonstrate you follow Him alone.
Words for Every Leader
Generations will be impacted by your commitment to be strong, act like a man (if applicable) and walk in obedience.
Who is God Besides the Lord?
No one sails on calm waters all the way home. Our ship will get rocked! But today’s passage gives us great truths to nail down. And as we sail for home, we can say with David, “Who is God besides the Lord?”
Consequences of Sin
Today’s passage issues a strong warning. Sin always brings consequences.
Monument to Self
There is only one “monument” that can stand – a life transformed by Jesus. It is erected by grace through faith, “decorated” by the atoning blood of the Perfect Sacrifice. And there in its deep solid foundation is chiseled the name of its Maker. This life will stand forever.
Check Your Heart
Ask God to check your heart. Examine your sexual temptations that lead to the sins of lust, pornography, and adultery. Examine your materialistic tendencies that lead to the sins of greed and avarice. Examine your areas of personal pride that always go before a fall. Each part of the temptation is dangerous enough.
Great Grace
Are you involved in a story of great grace? How about giving to someone who can offer nothing in return? How about serving a person in need?
You Are God!
Thank Him for His past answers. Thank Him for all His future promises. And then from the depth of your being, make this declaration, “Sovereign Lord, you are God!” Don’t ask God to change His answer; ask Him to change your heart.
Blind Spots
Do you have any blind spots? Any areas of obedience you overlook or just flat miss? I bet you do. You can bet I have mine and we need to deal with them.
True Friendship
Although he was the king’s son, Jonathan acknowledged David as the next king and made the sacrifices necessary for that to happen.
Our Guide to the End
Self-counsel leads us to self-directed actions and pushes God out of the picture. When God is out of the picture, we lose direction and focus. Our thoughts and emotions are easily distracted by our circumstances.
