Our prayers are not for the alteration of the sun’s pattern, but they involve God’s miraculous work just the same – salvation of a loved one, physical healing, strength to be a good witness through an illness, the determination to resist a temptation or the restoration of a relationship. And the miracle is that the holy God hears and answers our prayers.
How many times do I make decisions without spending time in prayer? How many times do I decide to do or not do something by simply “sampling the provisions” (spreadsheets, test-drives, investment returns, outward appearances, etc.). Decisions require prayer.

Block out some time, and openly talk to the Lord about all the things keeping you from following hard after him. Believe me, he is an expert at breaking down walls.
