Get ready to start a journey…a journey through the pages of the Bible and the pages of your life.
Do you have any issues with other people? Does anyone rub you the wrong way? Say things behind your back? Hurt you? Living our daily lives means inevitable conflicts with others. When those matters arise, and they will, Jesus gives us specific instructions.
Broken hearts come in many forms. Some are crushed by a sixth-grade break-up; others when a spouse walks out after twenty-five years. Some come from the rejection of a dear friend; others by reckless words that pierce like a sword.
Don’t try to blame others or rationalize. Own up to what you said or did and replace selfishness with kindness. When you do, you are benefiting yourself…and others.
On that final day, the faithful shepherds will hear, “Well done!” and receive the victor’s crown that will never fade. On that day, every sacrifice of leadership will be well worth it.
One day Jesus will wipe away every tear and welcome you to the home where pain, suffering, crying, and tears cannot enter. Your darkest night will one day be erased by the view of the Son.
