Whatever You Need

Matthew 10:17-20

Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

God will always give you whatever you need in order to do whatever He calls you to do. He will never place you in a situation unaware or unprepared. God will always give you the courage and strength to face any situation. He will not simply give you the words to say; He will speak the words through you.

The disciples faced tough times. They endured severe persecution. Each of them, except for John, died a martyr’s death. They stood before kings and governors and shared their passion and beliefs. God provided the needed strength and never allowed them to waiver.

We don’t know what our future holds. But if it is persecution for our faith, we will not succeed on our own. God will carry us through the most difficult times giving us everything we need. We can be confident of this fact: God will always give us everything we need in order to do what He is calling us to do.

Father, give me strength and courage for today and for every day in the future. My confidence and trust is in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
