The Enemy Crusher

Psalm 108:6-13
Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered. God has spoken from his sanctuary: “In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth. Gilead is mine, Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet, Judah is my scepter. Moab is my washbasin, on Edom I toss my sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.” Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom? Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies? Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.

Enemies. People who want to destroy. “Friends” who slander. Inappropriate Facebook posts. Unfitting Instagrams. Gossipers. Behind the backers. Things that destroy our person.

Enemies. Cancer. Chronic pain. Reoccurring illness. MS. Diabetes. ALS. Persistent fatigue. Addictions. Heart disease. Death. Things that destroy our body.

Enemies. Discouragement. Depression. Anxiety. Mood Swings. Personality disorders. Panic. Things that destroy our emotions.

Enemies. We need help. Human help is ultimately worthless. We need supernatural aid. We need someone who can “gain the victory” on the field of battle. We need someone to stop the advance. We need someone who can demand retreat. We need someone to stand up and wield defeat. We need an enemy crusher.

 We need God!

Father, You are my only aid against the enemy. You are the only One who can gain the victory. You are the only One who can trample down my adversaries. I need You. Please come to my aid. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
