Psalm 29:10-11  

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

The Lord sits enthroned over the flood…
God never checks out. He never spins the earth like a top and lets it go.  He sits enthroned, sovereign, reigning as King…even over the flood.

The Lord is enthroned as King forever.
God will never abdicate His rule. He reigns as the King of Kings. And His kingdom is without end. He is the eternal One who has always been and will always be.

The Lord gives strength to his people…
The sovereign eternal King does not sequester Himself to His throne room. He moves in the midst of His people dispensing His strength. His might, supplied by the Holy Spirit, gives His people everything they need to do what He is calling them to do.

The Lord blesses his people with peace.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).

Father, I acknowledge You and You alone as the sovereign God enthroned forever. You alone are my source of strength. You alone are my peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
