Storms

Luke 8:22-25

One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.

In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”

Storms.

They can come down on us fast.

When we least expect it.

When the sailing seems to be smooth.

The call delivers devastating news.

The tests show malignancy.

The meeting resulted in news of dismissal.

Storms.

They can bring terror and panic.

Our life is swamped.

We feel like we’re going under.

We cry out in fear, “We’re going to drown!”

Storms.

Jesus is always there.

Jesus always speaks peace.

Sometimes He calms the storm.

Sometimes He calms our soul.

Father, I pray for the person going through a storm. Bring peace and confidence to their heart. Help them feel Your presence. Carry them through the wind and waves. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Yesterday‘s message and today’s message, for “separated” and the “storm”, I lost my job on Friday which was the message that said “separated”( that’s also how I felt from God ) and today was the storm of what occurred I didn’t handle well at first, but I know he has put many people in my life the past couple days to remind me that Faith can’t be beat.

thank you God for listening thank you , Amen

Chris, have been there. It can feel devastating, but know that God is faithful. He will never leave you alone. He carried me through that experience. He loves you
