A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. We need others who will build into our lives as we build into theirs. A true friend is like a safe harbor providing security and protection. Best of all, a good friend “loves at all times.” 

When your words are short and sharp…a friend loves at all times.

When you are exhausted, and all you want to do is disengage…a friend loves at all times.

When you are excited and want to emote…a friend loves at all times.

When you need to blow off some steam…a friend loves at all times.

When you are selfish…a friend loves at all times.

When you are insensitive…a friend loves at all times.

When you forget… a friend loves at all times.

When you keep remembering… a friend loves at all times.

When you experience success or failure…a friend loves at all times.

Today, let’s thank God for good friends! And, if you don’t have one, let’s pray that God provides you with a partner for the journey. 

Father, thank you for the good friends that you have placed in our lives. Thank you for people who see beyond our actions and know our hearts. Thank you for friends who give us permission to be ourselves. I pray for those who don’t have good friends. I pray you begin to put them in places and with people where genuine friendships can be found and developed. And Lord, please give our children and grandchildren great friends throughout their lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
