Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.
The winds of sin will reap the whirlwind of consequences. But if we plant thoughts, words, and actions that are in line with God’s instruction, we will reap the fruit of steadfast love.
The fruit of steadfast love is sweet. Its juices are God’s deep affection and unfailing love. It is meaningful and satisfying—like the rain of righteousness.
God’s way leads us where we always wanted to go. The right path is not always smooth. There are some steep climbs and rough terrain. But the destination is one of great reward. So…stay on the right path and enjoy the fruit of steadfast love. Look! Up ahead! God waits with open arms!
Talking to God
Father, I am prone to wander. Keep me on your path. Let me enjoy refreshing rain of righteousness now and throughout eternity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
