Promises: He Alone is Worthy of Praise

by | Aug 31, 2023 | Daily Devotion, Promises in the Psalms | 2 comments

Tomorrow we’ll begin a 30-day devotional series focused on prayer. I invite you to invite others to join us. Ask friends and family to subscribe to this devo series at ronmoore.org/subscribe. It will be a great journey to take together.

Thanks for joining us for Promises in the Psalms—a devo series right from the Old Testament book of worship. We have learned that God is our helper and healer. He is always present with us and meets us wherever we are. He is right there when our hearts are broken. He tends to our deepest wounds. He is our great God! That’s why we praise him through our joy and our tears.

Psalm 148:1-6
Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for at his command they were created, and he established them for ever and ever—he issued a decree that will never pass away.

The psalmist sounds the call for all God’s people. It is a call to praise. As we wrap up our series, let’s take time to praise the Lord. I encourage you to use this guide each day to proclaim your praise to our great God.

Praise God for causing you to see your sin and need for a Savior.
Praise God for introducing you to Jesus and allowing you to trust him.
Praise God for transforming your life.
Praise God for his Holy Spirit, who empowers you.
Praise God for his Word, his love letter to you.
Praise God for the church where you find connection and encouragement.
Praise God for your spiritual growth.
Praise God for health.
Praise God for the physical challenges that he is using to grow you.
Praise God for your parents.
Praise God for your godly boyfriend/girlfriend.
Praise God for your husband/wife.
Praise God for the gift of children and grandchildren.
Praise God for friends who love, encourage, and spur you on.
Praise God for the job he has provided.
Praise God for the roof over your head.
Praise God for the daily provision of food.
Praise God for his great creation—sun, moon, and shining stars.
Praise God for another day of life.
Praise God for his mercies that are new each morning.
Praise God for the home that awaits you in heaven.
Praise the Lord!

Father, you alone are worthy of all my praise. Help me proclaim your greatness throughout each day of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
