Psalm 85:8-13 
I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—but let them not turn to folly. Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.

God promises peace to His people. A calm that settles our soul. An anchoring stillness that keeps us steady. An inner balance that keeps us on our feet.

God promises peace to His people. It settles in during sleepless nights. It swoops down during frantic days. It moves our minds from anxiety to the Source of peace. 

God promises peace to His people. It comes at the bedside of a sick child. It fills the room of a dying saint. It beats to the rhythm of a monitor in the ICU.

God promises peace to His people. It will not let our minds run wild. It will not leave our hands frozen. It will not leave our hearts beating with fear.

God promises peace to His people. He delivers on all of His promises. 

Lord God, You are the author, distributer, and sustainer of peace. Thank You for the promise of peace and Your provision of it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
