Genesis 18:12-14

So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?” The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord?

Sarah was well past child-bearing age. She described herself as being worn out and her husband, Abraham as “old.” He was, after all, ninety-nine! But she had been promised a son. You would have laughed too. Except the promise came from God. And nothing is too hard for him.

So, today you stand facing the impossible. An illness. A separation. A wayward child. Without a job. Waiting for a relationship. The death of a dream. Rejection. Obstacles that seem insurmountable. Let me leave you with this question, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” You know the answer.

Talking Points

  • Tell God all about the obstacle that stands in front of you. Tell him how helpless and hopeless you are feeling.
  • Tell God that regardless of the challenge, you will trust him. Tell him that you truly believe with all your heart—nothing is too hard for him.

And…keep talking to God throughout the day.
