When God says something one time, it is an eternal truth. And then, there are truths that he emphasizes with repetition. Today’s passage highlights God’s intimate fellowship with his people by using the simple word “with.”

Revelation 21:3
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.”

Presently, the Spirit of the living God dwells within the believer (1 Corinthians 6:19, Ephesians 2:22). His work in our hearts is powerful and effective. We feel his presence. But one day, the fellowship we experience with God now will become even more intimate.

• “…The dwelling place of God is with man….”
• He will “dwell with [us].”
• “God himself will be with [us].”

We are God’s people, and he is our God. The relationship we have with him now is amazing. The eternal God lives in us. But hang on…it’s going to get even better. Read today’s passage again. The best is yet to come!

Dear Father, thank you for the fellowship we can experience with you right now. And thank you for the promise of the intimate fellowship we will experience with you throughout eternity. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
