Now What Do I Do?

by | Apr 24, 2023 | Daily Devotion, Living Hope | 3 comments

God created Adam and Eve and placed them in a perfect environment, the Garden of Eden. Then, in Genesis 3, they ate from the tree God had forbidden, and sin entered the world. And God said, “Oh no! Now what do I do? I must come up with another plan.” Not at all! God knew before creation that it would be necessary for Jesus to redeem humanity.

1 Peter 1:20-21
He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Even though there was a point in history when Jesus walked on this earth and went to the cross, “he was foreknown before the foundation of the world.” The sovereign God was not and is not taken by surprise. He is a God of omniscient eternality. There has never been a time when he was not; there will never be a time when he is not. And through it all, he is all-knowing! Try to grasp that truth with your finite mind.

I love Peter’s conclusion, “so that your faith and hope are in God.” In other words, this is the God you can trust!

Father, you are beyond what I can even begin to comprehend. Thank you for making the way to you so clear and understandable. Today, whatever it brings, my faith and hope are in you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Ron, love the fact u have a favorite place in ur house. It just somehow makes prayer time even better. I have an old chair in my office where I can see a tree through window and watch the seasons change. In addition our dog ALWAYS comes and lays down beside my chair when I’m doing devotions ?. Enjoy ur porch.

All for the front porch!! Love the new format…we just relax and we receive the Word of God. God didn’t need anything flashy…just His Word.

These were fun to do from my front porch! I will do some more once the weather warms up. Our front porch is a favorite spot for Lori and me.
