Some will think your lifestyle is strange. Your stance on truth doesn’t change based on the whims of the culture. You may be called bigoted for believing life begins at conception and should be protected. It certainly is not “woke” to believe that gender is assigned by God as he knitted us together in the womb. I recently spoke with a neighbor wearing a t-shirt with this statement on the front: “Science is not a liberal conspiracy.” I agree and wonder what is more science-based than the parts we are born with that clearly define a man and a woman. Even certain facts of science are twisted to meet cultural agendas. And some will think you are strange because you choose to go home after work on Friday instead of hanging out at happy hour. You are wise enough to know that when men and women “share a few drinks” together, danger lurks. But…you don’t have to worry about what other people think.

1 Peter 4:4-5
With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

The Christian life is counter-cultural. A Christian worldview, based on the unchanging truth of God’s Word that leads to life, will always be at odds with the world system, run by Satan, that leads to death. Some will judge you, as Peter says, “malign” you.

Thankfully the judgment that counts does not come from this world. One day all our actions will be evaluated by God. Everyone will give an account before him. On that day, the Christian will say, “O God, thank you for your great grace.” On that day, the non-Christian will say, “O my God…it’s too late!”

Lord, thank you for your grace. But for your grace, “there go I.” Help us to live not with an attitude of spiritual superiority but with sincere humility, sharing with our lips and lives the message of Jesus. In his name. Amen.
