In the Breach

Ezekiel 22:30

And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

Israel was far from God. The leaders had abused their power. The people turned their backs on God. God looked for someone who would stand up for him and found no one.

Today God is looking for people who will stand in the breach. He is looking for parents more concerned about their daughter’s walk with God than her circle of popular friends. He is looking for parents more concerned about their son’s heart than his batting average. He is looking for leaders unwilling to compromise regardless of the pressure. He is looking for men and women to stand strong in the face of culture. He is looking for people who will demonstrate to their families and friends what it looks like to follow hard after God.

So, here’s the question. God is looking for that person. Will he find you?

Talking to God

Father, here I am. Help me stand in the breach. Give me strong spiritual hands to build strong spiritual walls. Give me strong feet to stand in the gap. Let me be the person you find to stand strong. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

    Ron,
Thank you so much for your guidance and work in these daily devotional posts. They are the beginning of every day for me and help tremendously in setting me for a successful day. I’m asking today for healing prayers for myself. I just had a knee replaced and have ashamedly been crying out to God more now than ever. It dumbfounds me that I reach out so much more in times of need but tend to forget to praise and tank Him in the good.

Much love to you and Lori

    In Christ
    Emily
