Daily Deliverance

Psalm 105:39-45
He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night. They asked, and he brought them quail; he fed them well with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert. For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham. He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy; he gave them the lands of the nations, and they fell heir to what others had toiled for—that they might keep his precepts and observe his laws. Praise the Lord.

Our need for God’s deliverance is ongoing. Our thanksgiving for yesterday’s relief quickly turns into a new prayer for another rescue. There is never a day when we are not dependent on God.

After God delivered Israel from Egypt, the journey through the wilderness began. The nation was dependent on Him more than ever.  They were free from Egypt but not free from their need for God. They needed protection during the day and a light to guide them during the dark nights. They needed food and water. Every day the people saw God provide exactly what was needed.

And every day God will provide exactly what you need. Let Him know your needs today. Thank Him for His provisions tonight. Thank God that He reminds you often of your dependence on Him. If not, you might start thinking you were good to go on your own!

Father, keep me dependent on You. There I will always find all I need. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
