Character Produces Conduct

by | Jun 22, 2019 | Daily Devotion, Gospels | 0 comments

Mark 7:20-23

He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

Character produces conduct.

Being determines doing.

My actions follow my heart.

Character produces conduct.

What comes out shows my true colors.

My heart is the mover of my hands.

Character produces conduct.

Damage does not come from the outside.

Defilement comes from within.

Character produces conduct.

All evils come from inside and corrupt a person.

Who I am determines what I do.

Character produces conduct.

Give God all of your heart.

Then godly actions will flow through your life.

Father, I pray with the psalmist: create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
