There is no one like Jesus! Check out his resume in today’s passage. He is the One, the only One, who transforms chaos to peace.

Hebrews 1:3 NIV
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Jesus is the “radiance of God’s glory.” “Just as the radiance of the sun reaches this earth, so in Christ the glorious light of God shines into the hearts of men” (F. F. Bruce). He is the “exact representation” of God’s being. Just as the image on a coin represents the design on the die, so Jesus is the very stamp of God’s nature. Jesus sustains all things “by his powerful word.” By him, all things were created, and in him, all things are held together (Col. 1:16). Jesus provided purification for our sins. This cleansing of our hearts could only be accomplished by the One who was fully God and fully man. When his work was completed, Jesus sat down in the place of honor alongside the “Majesty in heaven.”

There is no one like Jesus! He delivers peace. There is only one thing left to do—bow before him and cry out, “My Lord and my God!”

Lord Jesus, one day every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that you are Lord. We want to do that right now! We proclaim, “Jesus Christ is Lord!” Amen.
