Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

I love this verse! For years it hung in a homemade frame on the wall of our home. Let’s break it down.

The Lord your God is in your midst. The eternal God is always with us. In our great joy or deep sorrow, he is there. He provides comfort, encouragement, instruction, correction, and strength. He never leaves nor forsakes us.

He is the mighty one who will save. There is nothing in our lives that is too big for God. He will give us all we need to do everything he calls us to do.

He will rejoice over you with gladness. God sent Jesus to die just for you! That’s how much he loves you! You are a child of the living God. He takes great pleasure in you.

He will quiet you by his love. Life has a way of cranking up the anxiety level. Circumstances come into our lives that cause stress and doubt. That’s when the Holy Spirit takes over. He breathes calmness into our souls. He reminds us that he is on our side.

He will exult over you with loud singing. We know what it’s like to sing songs to God. But did you know that the heavenly Father sings over us?! Like parents sing songs to their children, so God sings songs of joy over us.

God is always with us. He is the mighty one who saves. He rejoices over us. He quiets us with his love. He exults over us with loud singing. That’s amazing love!

Heavenly Father, thank you for never leaving me alone. Thank you for your power to save me from my sins and myself. Thank you for taking pleasure in me. Thank you for calming my anxious heart. Thank you for rejoicing over me. Thank you for being my heavenly Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Ron, I couldn’t believe u picked this verse. I’ve loved this verse for yrs. I unfortunately did not have a close relationship with my dad. When I read God “rejoices over me” I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe he actually likes me, and to b honest , struggle to believe it. But it makes me feel so good to think he could actually rejoice over me. Thank you
