When Jesus was taken into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit. When we trust in Jesus, the Spirit makes His home in our hearts. Be assured the moment that we believe, we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit in full.
No one sails on calm waters all the way home. Our ship will get rocked! But today’s passage gives us great truths to nail down. And as we sail for home, we can say with David, “Who is God besides the Lord?”
Regardless of how far we have gone, how long we have been gone or how much damage we’ve done, the loving Father waits with open arms to welcome his child (prodigal though he or she may be) back home.
We are in desperate need of more wholehearted servants like Caleb. We need men and women who are using all their gifts and resources to serve God until he calls them home. There is no such thing as retirement in the service of the Lord.
