
The Ultimate Surrender
Being man and sinless, Jesus was the only one who could die on man’s behalf. There was no other one and no other way. And yet we get just a hint of the pain of the cross in today’s passage.

Easter is coming. But today, slow down and thank Jesus for his great sacrifice.
Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone. If we reject or neglect the Cornerstone, our lives (relationships, jobs, dreams, desires, etc.) will be out of line.
Jesus called children to his side. He told his listeners, “Let the little children come to me… for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven”.
Jesus lived with zeal and passion. He entered the temple area and “drove out” all who had turned worship into a money-making scam.
Jesus rides into our hearts to stay. He is more intent on changing us than our circumstances.
God in the flesh surrendered himself, entering Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. He continued to yield all the way to the cross. The charge of the believer is to follow that example of humble relent.
Jesus knows we need assurance from time to time. And he is more than willing to give us all the reassurance we need.
John knew what he was made to do. He surrendered his life to God’s assignment.
When the spotlight shines on you…will you use it to promote yourself, or will you use it to point others to Christ? Two options, but only one right answer.
Jesus said, “You will recognize them by their fruits” (Matt. 7:16). By the fruit of a person’s life, you will know what is in their heart. A heart transformed by Christ produces the fruit of his Spirit.
Show people how he lived. Tell people what he said. Explain to people why he died.
Faith is made up of things that don’t always fit together. If it’s all packaged up nice and tight…it’s not faith…it’s a fact.
There is a blessing on the other side of sacrifice. So, here’s the question: What’s the sacrifice standing between you and God’s blessing?
It means we finally live fulfilled with a whole heart…filled with the One who always provides exactly what we need.
Can you believe in the promise of God to satisfy you without all the other stuff? Is there anything in your life you need to relent?
There will be times when he brings us to the point of choosing between him and something or someone else. There will be times when we must decide to get out of the way…or not.
He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
Jesus is the horn of salvation. He is the only One who has the power to save.
In Jesus, we saw what God looked like and how much he loves us…all the way to the cross.
