Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

I love this verse! For years it hung in a homemade frame on the wall of our home. Let’s break it down.

The LORD your God is with you. The eternal God is always with you. In your great joy or deep sorrow, He is there. He provides comfort, encouragement, instruction, correction, and strength. He never leaves nor forsakes you.

He is mighty to save. There is nothing in your life that is too big for God. He will give you all you need to do everything He calls you to do.

He will take great delight in you. God sent Jesus to die just for you! That’s how much He loves you! You are a child of the living God. He takes great pleasure in you.

He will quiet you with his love. Life has a way of cranking up the anxiety level. Circumstances come into your life that cause stress and doubt. But that’s when the Holy Spirit takes over. He breathes calmness into your soul. He reminds you that He is on your side.

He will rejoice over you with singing. We know what it’s like to sing songs to God. But do you realize the heavenly Father sings over you? Like parents sing songs to their children, so God sings songs of joy over us. That amazes me!

Heavenly Father, thank You for never leaving me alone. Thank You for Your power to save me from my sins and me. Thank You for taking pleasure in me. Thank You for calming my anxious heart. Thank You for rejoicing over me. Thank You for being my heavenly Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
